When a master of today meets the greats of the past. The Modigliani Quartet combines the sharp and fleeting miniatures of Hungarian composer György Kurtág with the elegance of Joseph Haydn and the intensity of Johannes Brahms. Kurtág's music, in its conciseness, grants a unique importance to every note. Set alongside these giants of classicism, his work appears all the more innovative and closely tied to tradition, seeming to form a musical conversation across centuries. A new approach to experiencing the quartet while celebrating a composer who, despite nearly a century of life, continues to inspire.
