The captivating piece 'Schnee' by Hans Abrahamsen is inspired by both 'The Snow Queen' by Hans Christian Andersen and Johann Sebastian Bach. In the early 1990s, the composer arranged several of Bach's canons, reinterpreting them to be infinitely repeatable. This technique became the foundation for 'Schnee', where interwoven canons create a shimmering and icy texture, evoking the stillness and gentle motion of falling snow. 'Schnee' invites listeners into a hypnotic and meditative space where simplicity and complexity intertwine, revealing new details with each listen.
