The Ultima Vez company, directed by Wim Vandekeybus, associate artist at Théâtres de la Ville (Infamous Offspring, 23-24), returns to Luxembourg with a new creation by the young Congolese dancer and choreographer Lukah Katangila, Imprisoned Gods, a piece that explores the rich traditions and belief systems of ancient Alkebulan (present-day Africa), before the influence of Western colonization. Four dancers, each rooted in the Goma region and specializing in a traditional dance style, perform hunting-inspired movements from the Rega to the majestic Tembo, from the fluid Shi to the wild Hunde. A celebration of the essence and cultural diversity of Alkebulan. A piece that builds a bridge between tradition and modern expression.
