Founded in 1993 by Jakob Fenger, Bjørnstjerne Christiansen, and Rasmus Rosengren Nielsen, Superflex functions as an expanded collective working with various collaborators, ranging from gardeners and engineers to audience members. Their works explore alternative models of social and economic organization and materialize in forms such as energy systems, sculptures, public spaces, and more. Since the award-winning Superkilen opened in 2011, they have been involved in public space projects often involving local communities and other species to promote interspecies urbanism.
