Original version (English), French subtitles. Alongside the play “Twelve Angry Men,” the Escher Theater offers a screening of Sidney Lumet's 1957 film. This black-and-white chamber drama featuring Henry Fonda in the lead role has become a cinematic classic, still hailed as a masterpiece of its genre. Synopsis: A young man from a modest background is accused of murdering his father and faces the death penalty. The jury of twelve men withdraws to deliberate and immediately votes: eleven vote guilty, but the decision must be unanimous. The juror who voted not guilty, prompted to justify himself, explains having a doubt and that a man's life warrants some hours of discussion. He then works to persuade them one by one.
