The Romans, a People of Freshwater. Pure water was as important to the Romans as it is to us in the 21st century! The Romans worshipped water like gods because they knew that without it, there could be no life or progress. In their time, only an elite had running water at home, while the rest of the population obtained it from public fountains.
In these short workshops, we will discover the various states of water and its continuous transformations. We’ll learn how the Greeks and Romans operated a fountain without an electric pump using the revolutionary method invented by Heron of Alexandria. We'll also examine the siphon system with our Roman friends. These methods, all based on the principles of gravity, will be explored during the workshops.
