The choreographer and director of Le Phare – Centre Chorégraphique National du Havre Normandie, Fouad Boussouf, pays a profound and fervent tribute to the icon of Egyptian music, Oum Kalthoum. Renowned for her poignant voice which moved her countrymen to tears, she masterfully sang the verses of 11th-century Persian poet Omar Khayyam, embodying voluptuous poetry and intoxicating love. Fouad Boussouf brings together six dancers and two musicians to depict the fusion of oriental and contemporary dance, the energy of the group, and the sensuality of the couple.
