This show is based on a three-hour phone conversation between Marlene and Ute in 1988 in Paris. Following her receipt of the French Molière Award for her performance in 'Cabaret' in Paris, Ute had written a postcard to Marlene, apologizing for the media's comparison of her to Marlene Dietrich. This was a unique opportunity to hear Marlene speak about her life, work, her love for Rilke, and her fascinations.
Ute tells Marlene's story and performs her fabulous songs from various chapters of her life, from the Berlin cabaret years to her remarkable collaborations with Burt Bacharach.
