At the intersection of music, sound design, and speech, this work expresses the lived experience of hearing through overlapping soundscapes, musical fragments, and processed voices. Premiering worldwide, the piece involves collaboration with voice hearers, a psychiatrist, a doctor, and a composer whose family members have experienced similar phenomena. Understanding and recognizing this experience is a step toward reducing stigma, raising awareness, and improving outcomes for those affected.
