A double bass and a bass clarinet establish connections between gesture, sound, and presence, exploring the relationship between improvisation and notation. The works by Angharad Davies, Jürg Frey, and Scott McLaughlin examine the composer's and improviser's engagement and their mutual connections during the interpretive moment. Here, sound arises not only from the instruments but also from the spaces between performers.
