Welcome to the PEKiP course!
PEKiP stands for: Prague Parent-Child Program. Why Prague? The psychologist Dr. Koch, active in the 1960s in Prague, laid the scientific foundations for the current PEKiP courses, focusing on the development and learning of babies in their first year of life combined with movement.
PEKiP is an educational concept for mothers and fathers with their babies during their first year. From the eighth week of life to their first birthday, parents (or grandparents) can participate with their baby in weekly sessions.
PEKiP groups consist of six to eight babies with parents and ideally remain constant throughout the year, meeting once weekly for 90 minutes under the guidance of a trained PEKiP group leader.
The room is warm to allow the babies to move around without garments, encouraging activity and contentment. Parents gradually learn various play and exercise activities designed to support the baby's physical, mental, linguistic, and social skills, gently supporting their individual development.
