Medieval Festival Tempus Mediaevale in Koerich
Just before autumn sets in, medieval life is reborn for a few days in the heart of the magnificent ruins of Koerich Castle, built in 1338. Craftsmen, acrobats, and knights meet at the famous Tempus Mediaevale, which is held every year in September at the Gréiweschlass.
During this unique medieval atmosphere, visitors discover ancestral methods of cooking over an open fire, observe the work of artisans with their period tools, and immerse themselves in the daily lives of the inhabitants of yesteryear. For two days, potters, blacksmiths, calligraphers, basket weavers, and bow makers demonstrate their skills, while acrobats, witches, and magicians captivate young and old alike.
Even the products are inspired by this bygone era: jams, local honeys, jewelry, wooden toys, leather goods, medieval accessories, knives, artisanal liqueurs, ceramics, period clothing, and decorative iron creations are on offer to visitors. While children will enjoy a donkey ride, adults can test their axe-throwing skills.
