The National Museum of Natural History Luxembourg (MNHNL) is hosting its annual celebration: the Natur Musée Fest. This free and friendly event will be entirely dedicated to biodiversity and eco-responsibility.
The events will take place in the museum, around its gardens, as well as at Neimënster Abbey, in the heart of the Grund district.
The program includes around thirty activity stands, scientific and experimental workshops, educational games, exclusive guided tours of the museum's laboratories, which are usually closed to the public, and meetings with scientists. The public will also have free access to the permanent collections and the temporary exhibition "Nature Under the Pavements."
A giant inflatable planetarium installed in the Neimënster agora will allow visitors to discover the stars, planets, nebulae, and galaxies during an introductory astronomy journey. It will even be possible to reach the abbey by shuttle boat on the Alzette.
In the spirit of sustainability, regional, organic, and eco-friendly products will be available on site. Containers used will be reusable or returnable, to minimize waste. A water fountain will also be available: remember to bring your own reusable water bottles. The public is encouraged to use soft modes of transport to get to the event: on foot, by bike, or by public transport.
Please note that the Natur Musée Fest will also be the occasion to officially unveil the new visual identity of the National Museum of Natural History.
