The exhibition offers a journey through the emblematic cities and regions of Italy. Spanning four centuries and highlighting works by Italian, Dutch, French, and British painters, it reveals idealized ancient landscapes, detailed views, and urban daily life scenes. The showcased artworks emphasize southern light, architectural elegance, scenic charm, and the omnipresence of Antiquity.
In addition to views of the five main cities, discover "capricci," imaginative compositions of ancient ruins set in bucolic landscapes. Distinguished paintings, including the Roman squares by Gaspar van Wittel, Canaletto's Venice, and industrial Milan by Umberto Boccioni, are among the masterpieces of the exhibition.
To conclude, visitors, both young and adults, have the opportunity to create their own "capriccio" through digital collages. For families with children, a painting corner and a quiz are also available.
