On January 20, Cape Verde pays tribute to the memory of Amílcar Cabral (1924 – 1973), a key figure in the independence of Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde. A commemoration day will be held at the CAPE Foyer featuring a festive program with music, dance, and reflection. A lecture on Cape Verde's independence will be followed by performances by dance groups Batukadeiras de Amizade, Contradança Luxembourg, and Montsu, highlighting the diversity of Cape Verdean traditional dances. The evening concludes with music by Kasy & Band.
