Awardee of the Poursuite writing residency in 2024, Hélène Laurain returns to the media libraries to present her second novel, "Tambora", published during this literary season by éditions Verdier. Through the depiction of her two daughters, she connects the different stages of motherhood and the writing of her first novel. Simultaneously, "Tambora", a volcano whose eruption in 1815 plunged the world into several months of winter, becomes a symbol of the ongoing environmental catastrophe. In fragments alternating between gentleness and an awareness of the world's fragility, this novel offers a glimpse of hope provided by the new generation.
