For this exceptional concert, Kammerata Luxembourg invites the renowned Calmus Ensemble from Leipzig – a vocal quintet that has captivated audiences for over 25 years with the precision of its timbre, the richness of its styles, and the depth of its musical expression. Alongside Maurice Clement, Kammerata's organist, a true musical dialogue is born: between voice and organ, between Renaissance and contemporary creation, between formal rigor and sonic freedom.

The evening revolves around the four elements—water, earth, air, and fire—symbolizing the forces of nature as well as inner states. The cycle The Elements of Being, written especially for Calmus by Harald Banter, finds its echo in Johann Sebastian Bach's Duetti—refined organ pieces brought to life by Maurice Clement as mirrored responses. Between these poles, spaces open up for improvisation, folk songs revisited by Brahms, and Renaissance vocal works by William Byrd.

The result is a contemplative and intense musical dialogue – on the power of nature, on the beauty of the voice… and on what is at stake in the silences between sounds.
