Exhibition 1944: Moselle Welcomes Its Liberators
Three months after the June 6, 1944 landing, General George Patton's Third American Army reached Moselle's gates. This territory would only be fully liberated after seven months of intense fighting. The exhibition showcases daily life, material and institutional aspects of this period, as well as war damages and the re-establishment of institutions.
Good to know
This exhibition is housed in the reception area of the Simserhof fort, with the possibility of visiting the Maginot Line fort.
