Jon Meehan is a singer-songwriter originally from Ireland and based in Luxembourg, known for his retro-inspired songs blending humor and insightful themes through blues, jazzy, and folk styles. His music, rooted in folk, rock 'n' roll, and blues, showcases intricate guitar work, original lyrics, and dynamic rhythms. He began playing the guitar at the age of 12 in Ireland, influenced by artists such as Bob Dylan and Buddy Holly. His passion deepened through live performances in Dublin, where he saw renowned musicians including B.B. King and Rory Gallagher. After moving to London, he studied jazz singing and guitar, honing his skills in the busking scene and at various music venues. He also performed in Paris, Aix-en-Provence, and Marseille. Now residing in Luxembourg, Jon recently recorded an EP including three original songs, collaborating with local musicians. His writing reflects personal experiences, blending observational insights with humor. He emphasizes storytelling in his lyrics, influenced by his background in literature and teaching, ensuring every piece resonates with carefully crafted words and arrangements.
