AYOM is a sextet of traveling musicians (Brazil, Italy/Spain, Greece/
Italy, Italy, Angola) uniting Mediterranean identities around the music of the African diaspora discovered in Lisbon. Their name, Ayom, evokes the Afro-Brazilian "Lord of Music." Their participation in the Black Atlantic Tour revealed the emotional power of their Afro-Lusitanian and Afro-Latin music.
This six-member multicultural group transcends cultural divides, establishing a deep bond of unity beyond origins, genders, ethnicities, and ideologies. Their nomadic, profound, and danceable musicality blends tradition and modernity, poetry and energy, joy and commitment, recounting their journey through universal sounds.
