On October 10 and 12, Pedro Amaral invites you to experiment freely, drawing direct inspiration from your surroundings. For two hours, explore different painting techniques, such as acrylic, with all its versatility, as well as the use of pencils and oil pastels. The goal is to conduct research around color and its connection with nature: a dialogue between artistic practice and observation, similar to the work Pedro is currently conducting as part of his artist residency at La Canopée.
The atmosphere is intended to be both relaxed and enriching, fueled by references and examples from major artists whose techniques will illuminate the proposed experiments: Hockney, Basquiat, Paula Rego, Degas and Warhol.
A self-taught painter with over forty years of experience, Pedro leads his workshops by inviting everyone to explore and develop their own techniques. He guides and encourages participants, reminding them that mistakes don't exist: accidents are an essential and constructive part of the creative process.
These workshops will take place at the LUGA Lab and the Science Hub, a great opportunity to connect with nature, meet the artist and explore your creativity.
