What does it mean to play with identities, create alter egos, or step into someone else's shoes? How do notions like gender, culture, or profession shape our being? Inspired by artist Eleanor Antin, known for transforming into various characters to examine these boundaries, Mudam invites you to a series of three workshops exploring identity and new forms of personal expression while rediscovering ways to connect with others.
Guided by three facilitators offering diverse perspectives, each session will cover a distinct theme:
- Session 1: Introduction to gender studies and feminist strategies.
- Session 2: Using performance and theatricality to imagine new personal narratives.
- Session 3: Creating an alter ego led by a drag performer, discovering another aspect of oneself through alterity.
Each workshop lasts two hours and takes place in the Mudam Studio. The sessions begin with an introduction to the theme, followed by an exhibition visit to discuss Antin's work. Back in the studio, participants will engage in individual and group exercises to integrate their reflections.
