Guided tour by Nathalie Becker. The notion of the sacred in the work of Francis Bacon is complex and ambiguous, even though it does not present itself as explicitly religious. It is not celestial but deeply terrestrial and corporeal. The artist's painting, often characterized by raw violence and emotional intensity, explores spiritual themes such as suffering, anxiety, isolation, and vulnerability in the face of mortality.
