Lecture | On Soldier Poets and Military Literature
In the 19th century, literature and the military—two seemingly dissimilar worlds—interacted. Prussian soldiers published poems, for instance, in the Luxemburger Wochenblatt. Luxembourgers serving the Netherlands released poetry collections. This lecture provides an insight into the role of these literary works in the context of the Luxembourg contingent and its society at the time.
