Co-financed by the European Union as part of the GRACE project – Interreg VI Greater Region, Nina, Fredrik, and Ingrid narrate Markus, an 18-year-old fan of football and grunge rock in the late 1980s. To move forward despite the darkness that engulfs him, Markus clings to moments of light that traverse him when he listens to Nirvana, plays a game of Mario Bros with his brother, or experiences his first love with Katrina. Even though his heart has stopped beating, Markus hasn't completely disappeared. Fragments of him remain in the memory of those who loved him. From anecdotes to memories, Nina, Fredrik, and Ingrid tell their shared story. But are memories enough to keep a story alive? 'Markus and Me' is an ode to life that continues and to the transforming power of memory, an invitation to live together, here and now, in a jubilant present nourished by echoes of the past.
