Like, Share, Comment, Meme – what seems like casual interaction has long become part of an intense struggle for attention and meaning. In her new book "Hyperreaktiv", author and cultural scientist Annekathrin Kohout examines how digital reaction forms have evolved into a currency in cultural, societal, and political debates. Through personal experiences, striking examples, and theoretical reflections, she illustrates how social media mimics analytical and investigative methods to intentionally spread disinformation or polarize opinions, highlighting individual users' responsibilities. The event invites reflection on alternative forms of reception, reaction, and responsibility in the digital age, in connection with the works of David Claerbout that subtly explore notions of time, perception, and attention.
