Akroama questions social justice and the unequal treatment of individuals. Akroama examines how social environments shape our core identity, and explores how to find one's place when no seat is offered… through a scenography that is a poetic and abstract mise en abyme of the barriers that separate social classes.
Alongside virtuoso performers and a soundscape created by an electronic composer and an oud player, the piece offers a sensitive and committed response, far removed from the intellectualization sometimes prevalent in contemporary art. It champions an emotional, accessible art, rooted in lived experience and feeling. Designed to circulate in non-dedicated spaces, the piece seeks to create social connections and foster dialogue between different worlds….
