Regular Guided Tour: Welcome to the Villa (3)
The exhibition showcases a selection of Luxembourgish artworks from the classical modern era to the turn of the millennium, including many recent acquisitions and donations. The period before 1945 is represented by the "secessionists" Kutter, Rabinger, Schaack, and Klopp, as well as Ernest Wurth and Adrienne Baudoin-d’Huart. Paintings by Henri Dillenburg and Nico Thurm, several image series by Wil Lofy, collages by Roger Bertemes, and sculptures by Pit Nicolas reflect an artistic creation oscillating between figuration and abstraction. From the 1950s/60s, artistic creation becomes more feminine (Jacqueline Hentges, Coryse Kieffer, Triny Beckius). From the 1990s to the early 2000s, visitors can admire paintings and graphic works by Moritz Ney, Marie-Paule Feiereisen, Annette Weiwers-Probst, and Renée Oberlinkels, as well as a sculpture by Bettina Scholl-Sabbatini.
