Regular Guided Tour: Welcome to the Villa (3)
The exhibition features a selection of Luxembourgish artworks, ranging from the classical modern era to the turn of the millennium, including numerous recent acquisitions and donations. The period before 1945 is represented by the 'secessionists' Kutter, Rabinger, Schaack, and Klopp, as well as Ernest Wurth and Adrienne Baudoin-d’Huart. Paintings by Henri Dillenburg and Nico Thurm, several image series by Wil Lofy, collages by Roger Bertemes, and sculptures by Pit Nicolas display an artistic creation oscillating between figuration and abstraction. From the 1950s/60s onwards, artistic creation becomes more feminine with artists such as Jacqueline Hentges, Coryse Kieffer, and Triny Beckius. From the 1990s to the early 2000s, paintings and graphic works by Moritz Ney, Marie-Paule Feiereisen, Annette Weiwers-Probst, and Renée Oberlinkels, as well as a sculpture by Bettina Scholl-Sabbatini, can be admired.
