Hervé Samb ft. Reggie Washington & Sonny Troupé
Young guitar prodigy Hervé Samb has become a prominent figure on the international scene and a sought-after recruit for countless projects. From Oumou Sangaré to Jimmy Cliff, from Salif Keita to Meshell Ndegeocello, from Marcus Miller to Amadou & Mariam, and through Somi, Cheikh Tidiane Seck, David Murray, and Pharoah Sanders... Hervé Samb merges the fertile legacy of his roots with the vast realms of today’s contemporary music.
Thanks to the strong collaboration of his two partners, Reggie Washington and Sonny Troupé, Hervé has everything he needs to express the full extent of his aspirations. The trio's music will take us on new journeys, paving the roads to the future.
New York-based bassist Reggie Washington has toured and recorded with numerous musicians such as Branford Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, Liz Mc Comb, The Headhunters, Steve Coleman, and Cassandra Wilson. Reggie holds gold in his hands, and his natural energy captivates the audience.
Sonny Troupé, originally from Guadeloupe, plays drums and the tambour Ka. His musical journey has been enriched by participation in various jazz, fusion, metal, soul, funk, and reggae lineups. He expands new boundaries that honor his Antillean roots and has played alongside Kenny Garrett, Lionel Loueke, Jacques Schwarz-Bart, and Grégory Privat.
A trio blending groove, power, and melody, offering music as free as it is grounded in tradition. Between acoustic ballads and electric passages, post-bop harmonies and M'base metrics, delicate guitar melodies, and an inflamed rhythm section. A fusion of Senegal, New York, and Guadeloupe.
