Conference: Luxembourg and the Piron Brigade - History, Fates, Memory
In 1940, the Belgian government in exile in London established an infantry brigade, known since 1942 as the Piron Brigade. From 1944, numerous Luxembourgers joined its ranks and participated in the liberation of Europe. In this talk, archivist Daniel Jordao presents the history of this unit, the fates of the Luxembourgers who served in it, and their place in Luxembourg's memory culture.
