Aerial straps, trapeze, Cyr wheel, juggling, and backflips: 10 artists from South Africa unleash themselves in a liberating, acrobatic, and colorful burst of energy. Moya proudly showcases the footwork of two lively, hopeful dances born from resistance to apartheid: gumboot, inherited from enslaved workers who tapped on their rubber boots in the mines, and pantsula, a kind of house dance that emerged from the Black townships of Johannesburg.
On a world tour, the Zip Zap company laces up their boots once again and whirls across the stage with incredible energy, blending contemporary circus with South African cultural fusion.
