At the turn of the 20th century, a new music emerged from the diverse cultures of the American melting pot. Drawing from the music of white settlers heard in churches, kiosks, and parades, African American and Creole musicians reshaped it by adding unique elements: the blues, the fervor of spirituals, and the syncopation of ragtime, giving birth to jazz. Matthieu Roffé and his sextet, composed of renowned musicians from the Grand Est, present a tribute to 20 iconic jazz pianists, such as Scott Joplin, Jelly-Roll Morton, and Duke Ellington.
