Successful New York businesswoman Ruth decides to travel to Poland after the fall of the Iron Curtain to confront her family's past, which narrowly escaped murder by the Nazis. Her father Edek accompanies her to look after her and support her on this difficult journey into the past. He himself once made the decision to leave Poland forever after barely surviving the Holocaust. A journey towards one another and towards oneself begins.
