The cantoLX ensemble celebrates its 15th anniversary with a concert dedicated to the early Italian Baroque. Combining the style of the madrigal with the emergence of solo singing, an innovation of the time that led to the birth of opera, 17th-century Italian music offers inexhaustible richness and composers showed outstanding creative force, while setting the works of the greatest Italian poets to music.
This program will take us to the two major musical centers of the era, Venice and Florence. While this program focuses on love stories, it also highlights the love story between cantoLX and the Seicento since its beginnings.
