Reading dogs are becoming more and more popular, and for good reason: studies show the positive effects these dogs have on children, be it on reading competence, self-confidence, or enjoyment of reading. Our specially trained dogs listen to children reading aloud, supported by reading games in which the dog participates and further motivates the children.
Good to know
Parents can register their children for a reading dog session on Tuesdays starting at 2 p.m. Families who homeschool are also welcome to come on Tuesday mornings. No outside dogs are allowed at the Reading Dog Café.
Target audience: children (7-12 years old) and their trusted adult (parents, grandparents, nanny...).
