Big Mother - Theatre
From scoop to scandal, when journalists cause trouble... And what if fiction was not so far from reality? Between theatre and cinema, this show borrows the codes of investigative journalism to unveil the invisible workings of mass manipulation. The story follows Julia Robinson, a journalist at New York Investigation, whose life changes when she believes she recognizes her partner, presumed dead four years before, in the dock of a trial. Behind this intimate mystery lies a sprawling investigation that exposes the ramifications of an unprecedented political scandal. Algorithms, fake news, mass surveillance: the mechanics of modern oppression are set in motion. But in a world where virtual and real intertwine, where misinformation is common and social networks dictate our lives, how do we untangle truth from falsehood? And if the most insidious threat came from where we least expect: ourselves?
