John von Düffel, author, translator, dramaturge, and from 2025 director at the E.T.A. Hoffmann Theater in Bamberg, is renowned for his refined and powerful adaptations of classics. William Shakespeare's masterpiece "Macbeth" is reimagined as a focused, psychological chamber play. It is both a political thriller and an impressive exploration of a complex relationship. Directed by Sewan Latchinian, Jacqueline Macaulay and Hans-Werner Meyer, a real-life couple, portray the Scottish royal couple in an intense production.
