Experience Nature in Motion - Games and Activities in the Forest
The forest, as a teaching and learning space, offers many opportunities to implement the theme of movement in a fun way with children of different age groups without resorting to classic sports disciplines.
Running, jumping, and balancing are just some of the forms of movement that can be found in the forest when encouraging movement, and can often be done with little equipment. In addition, the various forms of play and movement can be used to teach knowledge specific to nature. Besides promoting physical activity, this also helps raise children's awareness of the forest as a living environment.
This training allows participants to try out and test games and movement-focused activities. Participants prepare their own small physical activity units for the second session and immediately receive constructive feedback from the group. At the end, a small catalogue of practical ideas is created, which can be immediately integrated into daily educational practice.
Objectives:
- Gain basic knowledge about forms of movement and physical activity promotion
- Discover games and methods for personal use
- Acquire knowledge specific to the forest
Methods:
- Discussion about appropriate use by age group
- Preparation and implementation of one's own unit
- Practical work in large and small groups
