London-based duo Kit Sebastian (aka Kit Martin and Merve Erdem) captivate their audiences with moments of pure pop bliss, timeless nostalgia and seductive complexity. Their unique sound weaves a psychedelic tapestry of global influences, vintage synths and melancholy spirit, from the beaches of Bahia to the streets of Istanbul and Paris.
Their latest album ‘New Internationale’ was released in September 2024 via Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder record label. The album is a perfect summary of the sounds and styles that have long fascinated the duo: French pop and Anatolian psych, vintage Tropicália and early rock ’n’ roll, with touches of soul and progressive rock.
Originally from Hamburg, Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band is a mysterious steel pan group that has gained international cult status. With a series of notable singles and critically acclaimed albums, the group has established itself as an essential reference, constantly pushing the boundaries of its musical universe.
Today, Bacao is back with the same secret ingredient that makes them so distinctive, but in a decidedly renewed form. Their specialty: revisiting songs from all horizons—mega-hits to underground gems—which they reinvent through their unique approach to traditional steel pans from Trinidad and Tobago.
Enriched by contemporary disco and hip-hop influences, the music of Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band takes the listener on a rich sonic journey, traversing energies, tempos, and moods, always enhanced by their unique sound.
