Four gestures, four sound worlds meet in this concert dedicated to Janáček, Kurtág, Stravinsky, Bartók, and Kodály. The instruments act as storytellers, evoking both folk roots and the modern impulses of the 20th century. The cimbalom unfolds its unique resonance, struck by small mallets, while the piano shapes abrupt landscapes and the violin’s bow weaves moving timbres.
