Repair Cafés are volunteer gatherings where participants repair their broken items together: IT (hardware & software), furniture, electrical appliances, toys, textiles/clothes, bicycles, mechanical devices, etc.
For touchscreen devices or smartphones, assistance is generally limited to diagnostics and advice. It is recommended to have these devices repaired by specialized stores.
Before attending, please check:
– device power source (indicator light on, batteries charged, power cord in good condition)
– device maintenance (filters emptied, decalcification done as needed)
Bring all necessary accessories to test your item (coffee or capsule for a coffee machine, DVD for a DVD player, fuel for combustion engine items, charger, cables, manual, spare parts if known, etc.).
There may not be specialists for every topic at this event.
Good to know
If you have skills in electronics, carpentry, mechanics, sewing, etc., you can support the Repair Café, including with organization and welcoming.
