In 2002, the Israeli army destroyed the Jenin refugee camp. While all journalists and the UN investigation mission were denied access, Palestinian director Mohammed Bakri entered the camp and filmed Janin, Jenin to give a voice to its residents. The film was censored in Israel. Since 2023, the Israeli army has again targeted Jenin. Bakri returned with his camera and found the same witnesses: Janin, Jenin, his new film, also censored in Israel, shows that the occupation is even more violent and remains the same brutal occupation, 20 years later.

Tribute to Mohammed Bakri
Actor and director Mohammed Bakri, known for his documentary "Jenin, Jenin" and defender of the Palestinian cause, died on December 24 at the age of 72. Born in Galilee in 1953 to a Palestinian family, his commitment to his people brought him into regular confrontation with Israeli authorities. A theater and film actor, he notably acted in films by Costa-Gavras and Paolo and Vittorio Taviani. His international reputation came with his 2002 documentary "Jenin, Jenin".
