FOCUS ON JAZZ is the first black and white photography exhibition by Luxembourgish photographer Guy Fonck since the publication of his book Focus On Women In Jazz (Editions Schortgen) at the end of 2024.
Strongly influenced by the book's theme, the exhibition aims to draw attention to the essential role of women in jazz. While Focus on Women in Jazz is dedicated exclusively to women in the national and international jazz scene, FOCUS ON JAZZ offers, through the selection of exhibited photographs, a broader and deliberately utopian vision: that of a jazz universe where parity between jazzmen and jazzwomen is self-evident.
Guy Fonck mainly presents recent images here, from his photographic collection covering over 500 jazz concerts.
