A meeting with Habib Tengour, poet and anthropologist, following up on the symposium dedicated to him this summer in Cerisy, Normandy. Hervé Sanson, associate researcher at ITEM-CNRS, specialist in Francophone literatures of the Maghreb, will report on the main points.
Invited on numerous occasions by the Printemps des Poètes-Luxembourg (Poets' Spring Festival of Luxembourg), in residence at neimënster in 2022, and expected at the CNL (National Book Centre) at the end of the month, this major poet explores the relationship between language and identity. He is the author of numerous works—poetry, prose poetry, plays, and essays—which have earned him prestigious awards, including the Prix Dante for his entire body of work (2016) and the Prix International Benjamin Fondane (2022). He is the translator of the American-Luxembourgish poet Pierre Joris. In Luxembourg, he has been published by PHI and Éditions Simoncini. He also directs the collection "Poèmes du Monde" (Poems of the World) (Éditions APIC).
Organised on the occasion of the month of the Francophonie by the Victor Hugo Association, in collaboration with the Printemps des Poètes-Luxembourg and the Centre National de Littérature, with the support of the Institut Français and neimënster.
