"Estranha forma" is a solo that is performed and choreographed by Catarina Barbosa.
It is a cry of rage, a plea, a testimony, a questioning of the woman who wakes up one day, sees her life, observes her existence and wonders how she got to this point.
It is also a questioning of artistic and sexual education, and of the environment in which we live.
Estranha Forma is that moment in life, the one that turns you upside down, that drives you crazy, the one that every woman has surely already experienced, the one where you question your own existence.
This creation is an introspective solo that navigates between memories, imposed roles, and buried desires. It leads to a reflection on femininity, cultural heritage, sex education, body image, and all the contradictions we experience when growing up with rules we didn't choose.
