As part of the 25th anniversary of the Rencontres Musicales de la Vallée de l’Alzette, the Swiss multidisciplinary artist Vincent Flückiger will present works by Johann Hieronymus Kapsberger (ca. 1580-1651), Giovanni Zamboni (born ca. 1650) and Niccolò Piccinini (1728-1800). Flückiger is a lutenist and illustrator whose main artistic project is to immortalize the everyday details of his city, Basel. During this concert-lecture evening, he will also present his latest book, which showcases his talent for bringing to life the structures he draws from observation. With a fine and delicate line, he adds a mischievous touch of humor, comparing the entrance door of his apartment to that of a dungeon, complete with gargoyles.
