We are pleased to present Kana Madarame as part of this trumpet concert, recognized performer and educator. Kana Madarame, born in Japan, is a graduate of the Tokyo University of the Arts. Active as both performer and teacher, Kana is the principal cornet player for the Japan Ladies’ Brass and the Tokyo Brass Society. Kana gives solo recitals annually across Japan and has released three solo CDs. Recently, Kana launched the KANA project, which aims to introduce Japanese culture and spirit to foreign audiences. She is currently part of the teaching staff at several universities in Tokyo, a board member of the International Women’s Brass Conference, and was recently appointed ambassador of her hometown, Mito.
