During a trip to Russia, Frédéric Jouhannet discovered a collection of traditional music recorded in the Caucasus at a record store. From this inexhaustible source sprang the desire to create an imaginary character, a man of several folklores, bearing the mysterious name of Rédèr Nouhaj.

Alone on stage, the artist expresses an impetuous creativity, surrounding himself with a modern and wild instrument-making apparatus: two mechanical horses, hand-sewn bell masks and multiple improbable sound objects.

Rubbed, scraped, or struck, his violins remain his most faithful companions. At his feet, you'll find a brass band bass drum, a travel trunk, and even a bass accordion pedalboard. There's no doubt about it, you're dealing with a one-violin band!
