I Swear tells the true story of Scottish John Davidson, whose life changes dramatically when he learns in the 1980s that he has Tourette's syndrome. At a time when this illness was still misunderstood and feared, John suffered harassment, bullying, and prejudice. Turning his personal struggle for acceptance into activism, he helped others by raising public awareness, long before the illness was better understood.
